The “Unstructured Clinical Data Reuse for Precision Medicine” Workshop organized at the Medinfo 2017 conference in Hangzhou, China, was a great success. Taking place on August 24, 2017, it included presentations by Christoph Lehmann (Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA) on “Improving Patient Experience through Data Reuse”, Ronal Cornet (Department of Medical Informatics, University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Netherlands) on “Performing research on and with unstructured data”, Carlos Luis Parra-Calderón (Institute of Biomedicine of Seville, Seville, Spain) on “Real-time Spanish NLP infrastructure applied to the Regional EHR in Andalusia”, and Stephane Meystre (Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, USA) on “Automated Treatment Quality Assessment for Heart Failure.”
