New PCORI funding for COVID-19 related efforts

PCORI awarded our MUSC team partnering with Vanderbilt University funding to develop, test and share a new software application for COVID-19 related information extraction based on the same new Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods to improve the accuracy, validity, and efficiency of information extraction from Electronic Health Record (EHR) text proposed in our current PCORI award. This new COVID-19 NLP Tool is scheduled for an early “beta” release by the Summer of 2021 and a final release before December 2021.
